Cheers to a Beautiful, Healthy, Strong New Year!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday.
Jase (my husband) and I made it back to New York for Christmas. Both of our families live there. Although we had some major delays on the way out, we were thankful to get home after last years Southwest debacle left us stranded in Colorado for Christmas.
As our usual, Jase and I rang in the New Year like a couple of 95-year olds. After a day of Buffalo Bills football watching (and barely winning), we were in our PJ’s by 4pm getting cozy on the couch. Complete with dog + cat snuggles. Hey, I’m not complaining. Especially after a full week away from our 2 dogs, Max & Molly, plus Kean, the cat.
I hope ya’ll enjoyed your New Year too. Perhaps in a more exciting fashion.
But… I gotta admit something.
I wasn’t “perfect” with my nutrition over the holidays. There are days I didn’t log, and days I opted for that extra Buckeye, or piece of Cheesecake with Coconut Whipped Cream on top. I only averaged about 3000 steps a day, and lifted weights just *one time while traveling.
Remember, it’s about progress, not perfection.
Nowadays I’m at peace with my body and have found balance. It took years of struggling, hormonal disruption, injuries, lots of failure, and stepping away from the very things that pulled me into that unhealthy mentality (competitive sports and unhealthy relationships) to recover.
It’s hard work, but worth it for a life of self-happiness and love.
For anyone struggling, you can find balance in 2024!!
