I went through a period when I just wasn’t seeing the body composition and physique transformation that I desired. I was busting my butt at the gym, and eating “clean” but my body didn’t reflect my hard work.
I was showing up and putting in the work, and restricting my calories, but nothing was changing.
My solution? I thought I should push harder, workout longer, or simply do more at the gym, and just “eat cleaner.”
Guess what? It backfired.
I ended up feeling exhausted, frustrated, and burned out—more effort wasn’t the answer; it was making things worse.
I couldn’t figure out why… until I asked myself:
“How’s that working for you?”
💡 LIGHT BULB MOMENT.
I realized I was overdoing it and never giving my body the rest it truly needed.
👉 Too much volume and intensity, too little rest or downtime.
👉 Too little calories and carbs for my goals.
👉 Chronic stress and overload with minimal recovery.
👉 Running on fumes while expecting progress.
No wonder I wasn’t seeing the changes and results I was working for.
So I changed my approach.
I prioritized quality over quantity, and doubled down on following my programming and NOT adding more exercises or extra workout days.
I hired my own Dietitian Nutrition Coach to be unbiased and guide me with my macros. This required me to TRUST my Coach, but also be okay with getting uncomfortable and eating more calories and carbs than I thought I needed.
I tracked progress in a smarter way using progressive overload rather than chasing every short-term win.
I balanced effort and recovery (SLEEP) so that my body could truly perform and my body would reflect my hard work.
Within weeks, I saw the difference—my strength increased, my sleep improved, my energy increased, and my body composition started improving. My muscles had more definition and looked and felt less “soft.”
