2 Months in & 10 reps down ☑️
It’s been exactly 2 months since my emergency appendectomy and hospital stay. In all honesty, I’ve been so humbled this past month returning to lifting.
Many exercises are actually much more challenging than I anticipated, and I lost a lot more strength than I imagined I would.
It’s definitely frustrating, but what can you do other than have a bigger reason to show up and put in the work 🖤
Since I retired from competitive Powerlifting several years ago, Pull-ups became my fave lift (I’m obsessed with doing weighted Pull-ups). So when I re-started at the gym a month ago, I squeaked out 1 rep and quickly realized this rebuild would be a journey.
After a month of consistent training, I managed to get 10 Pull-ups. I’m super proud of myself for putting in the work and not giving up on myself. I made a promise to myself that I would get myself back to 10 reps. This past month I showed up even when I struggled, and managed to regain some of my strength and fitness.
I know it might feel like sometimes your goals are so far away… but you just have show up and start with 1 rep.
