I’ve been eating a square of Hu dark chocolate every single day lately.
Just one. Okay… it’s actually 4 squares.
Usually after dinner.
It’s delicious chocolate from Vitamin Cottage or King Soopers (they usually have the best price) that I look forward to. They have different flavors too- and my fave is SALTY Chocolate.
This might not seem like a big deal.
But there was a time when I couldn’t trust myself around anything sugary.
I’d either completely restrict those kinds of foods…
Or I’d binge on them in secret and then feel ashamed afterward.
It was always one extreme or the other.
All or nothing.
Clean or “off the rails.”
If I had one, I’d go back until it was gone.
So to sit here now, eating chocolate everyday without guilt, without spiraling, without thinking about it for hours… feels like a small but powerful reminder of how far I’ve come.
This isn’t really about chocolate.
It’s about freedom.
It’s about learning to listen to your body instead of controlling it.
It’s about no longer fearing the foods you once thought were your downfall.
The chocolate is just a symbol.
A sweet little sign that healing is possible and sustainable, even if it starts small.
So yeah…
I’m having chocolate (or some sort of dessert) today.
And I’ll probably have one tomorrow too.
And that’s something I’m proud of.
Hope this serves as a reminder for you to just keep going in your journey. Small steps lead to huge changes.
