Sunshine & Tan Lines

We went on vacation to the beach 🏖️

This was my first vacation I’ve taken in years. Where I intentionally scheduled clients before/after my vacation so I could unplug a little 😮‍💨

And unfortunately I was under the weather for part of my trip 🤮

I can’t tell you what happened. If it was something bad I ate? Travel/Jet Lag? Dehydration? Or a combo of everything. Whatever it was, I felt pretty lousy and was forced to just lay low for about 48 hours. And I honestly wasn’t super active (all plans to workout kinda went out the window), and I was ok with that, given how crummy I felt.

I still made the best of our vacation, tried to relax and take it easy, and just enjoy the time with my fam 💕 My husband, Jason, and I traveled to Florida and met up with my parents and my youngest sister, Meg, and her husband, Bry. Meg is about 7 months pregnant and since we never made it home for Christmas, this is the first time I’ve seen her since she’s been pregnant. It was fun to hang out with her and visit before she becomes a new mom!

I believe that this vacation taught me even more about the need to slow down and listen to my body. As much as I like to push and go, go, go… sometimes the body actually needs and craves some rest and recovery.

🖤 I also reminded my baby sister (who was obsessing about pictures of herself) that your appearance is the *least* interesting thing about you. There is so much more to YOU as a person than how you look, what you weigh, or what size clothes you wear… And in 25 years, when I am 65 years young, and I think back to my trip to Panama City Beach in 2023, I will remember celebrating my mom and sister’s birthday, staying up late at night to watch murder mysteries with my mom, laughing at my dad’s memories of me when I was younger, taking walks with my girls, and the crazy beach sunsets Jason and I saw each night. NOT what I looked like in a bikini, how many abs I had showing, or how much I weighed.

Remember that we all have so much to offer the world! How we look is actually the least interesting thing about us, despite what the media shoves in our face and it being the thing we all tend to obsess about the most. Trust me, I’ve come a long way over the last 10 years. I’m far removed from my disordered eating days, restricting food, and obsessing about how many calories I eat. I’m no longer punishing my body by working out 3 hours a day, 7 days a week and feeling guilty about taking a day (or week) off from training.

I hope I can inspire ya’ll to think the same!

✅ Now it is my companies mission is to coach women on how to fuel their bodies to look good, feel good, and set PR’s inside + outside of the gym. And we encourage women to be strong + fit with adequate food (CARBS included) ⛽️🍚
